SIGNED by Sgt. John Randolph Simpson of the unit. He enlisted 8/11/1862 as a sergeant in Co. C. He was wounded in the chest at Antietam forcing a discharge 9/17/1862. The unit lost 150 men at Antietam including five color bearers. Simpson was one of the committee who prepared the book. He inscribed a gift note on the FFEP in 1908.
