The author was a member of the 28th Illinois Infantry. Howard was active during the many reunions held at Shiloh, in fact, he held a high office in the reunion committee. The frontispiece is a drawing which has a name written under it: H.E. Jones, Anderson, Ind(?). Dated March 23rd, 1922. EXCEPTIONALLY RARE SHILOH PIECE!. Has a picture imbedded on the front board.
