Great attribution. Book came from the estate of Colonel Hans Mattson, the last commanding officer of the 3rd Minnesota. They had the distinction of being captured intact at Murfreesborough by General Forrest. The unit never lived it down. Inscribed in front with “Commanding Officer, Fort Halleck, Columbus, KY.”.
