London: Fred Pittman, Owens and Pasej, 1849. Unknown. Not likely more editions were published of this unusual book. HB. Small pocket sized testament meant for a purse/ blouse/jacket pocket. Gilt edges, void of foxing. Square and tight. Some rubbing to boards and spine edges. Overall VG. / No Jacket. Item #219
THIS IS THE MOST UNUSUAL BOOK I HAVE. THE WHOLE TESTAMENT IS WRITTEN IN SHORTHAND. IN FACT, IT APPEARS PRIOR OWNERS INCLUDED NOTES ON THE FFEP ALSO IN SHORTHAND.
(Highly likely there is no Civil War relationship with this book other than I bought it at a Civil War show...)
Early signatures of James and Maggie Merry on ffep.
