Philadelphia: Lippincott, 1876. First. HB. Bright gold lettering and embossing. Hinges starting. Some fading to color on bottom 1/2 inch of boards. Overall a nice copy.
There is a 1/4" chip out of the bottom of the spine / No jacket. Item #229

The narrative covers the service of the 69th, 71st, 72nd, and 106th Pennsylvania Volunteers. Nearly all of the men were recruited in the Philadelphia region giving the brigade its name. Throughout the War, there were over 350 officers and over 6,000 men who passed through its ranks. The units' battle history mirrors all the major engagements of the Army of the Potomac.

This copy belonged to Captain Theodore J. Wright of Companies E & G of the 72nd Infantry. He has signed on the ffep with this information. The book contains The Rolls of the Dead. There were substantial numbers of these in all the units.
