History of the 99th Indiana Infantry, Containing a Diary of Marches, Incidents, Biography of Officers and Complete Rolls

Lafayette, IN: Rosser and Spring, 1865. First. HB. Over all very good. A lower quality paper was used in the text, but it has stayed flexible and bright. Different fonts in the text which is unusual. Minor foxing throughout. / No Jacket. Item #230

A scarce Midwestern regimental. The 99th served in the West in the 16th Army Corps, primarily. It participated in the Vicksburg Campaign, Missionary Ridge, Knoxville, and all of Sherman's campaign from North Georgia to the end of the War. The unit suffered the loss of 178 members, big majority due to disease. It reported that 38 deserted, which seems high for a Midwest unit.
