Campaigning With Banks in Louisiana, ’63 and ’64 And With Sheridan in the Shenandoah Valley in ’64 and ’65
Boston: W.B. Clarke, 1887. First. Hard Bound. Near Fine. A handsome book! / None. Item #272
Not a common narrative. The author served in the 38th Massachusetts Infantry and participated in the ill-fated Bank's led Red River Campaign in 1864. After that drumming the unit joined Sheridan's campaign in the Shenandoah Valley, with much more success. A lot of dates, names, facts, etc in this beautifully bound book. (See pictures)
Not in Nevins. Dornbusch I-M-332 (38th Mass Inf).
