THIS IS AN EXTREMELY RARE AND INTERESTING BOOK. ITS RARITY IS LIKELY DUE TO IT BEING PUBLISHED IN ENGLAND AND IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE WAR.

The author traveled extensively about the United States with emphasis on the post-War South, 1867 to be exact. His detailed journal is chronological and reported by the city he visited. There are supplemental chapters on the Negro, the Indian and his possible extermination, the Finians (little known incident involving Canada) and the Alabama claims.

Overall the author was impressed by Americans and their friendliness.

Not in Nevins. Howes L-117.

Price: $275.00
