After assisting General Banks in the Carolinas, the regiment headed to the Trans Mississippi, namely Louisiana. Active during the Port Hudson Campaign and the Red River Expedition of 1864. Fought at Sabine Crossroads and Pleasant Hill. Transferred to the East where they participated in the Shenandoah Valley Campaign and the Battle of Cedar Creek. One of Fox’s Fighting 300.
