History of the Fifteenth Pennsylvania Volunteer Cavalry

Philadelphia: n.p., 1906. First. Hard Bound. VG+. Book is MINIMAL ex-library. There is a small bookplate in front, numbered spine and remnants of a pocket on the rear end paper. A beautiful Kelly green with gold embossing. / None. Item #439

A Western Theater unit that saw action at Antietam, Stones River, Chickamauga and with Sherman to the end of the War. A lengthy book (770+ pages!) ending with a unit roster. Portraits are perfect with no foxing. Contains the required map in a rear pocket. It is Near Fine.

An interesting approach to the history. Instead of providing a running chronological dialog as virtually all unit histories do, the narrative is composed of many individual accounts by regiment personnel. These are ordered by campaign/battle.

Slightly oversized with what appears to be coated paper making it heavy and requiring a slight increase in postage.

Dornbusch I-PA-90. Nevins I-118.

Contains an index of sorts in the front.
