A SPECIAL COPY OF THIS UNIT HISTORY. IT CONTAINS ALL SORTS OF ADDITIONAL MATERIAL.

Included is a CDV like card for LtCol George Savage of the unit. Also a letter from the publisher on 12th NH history stationary to Mrs. George Pitman of NH. [ George was a member of Co. B of the unit]. Tipped in the front of the book is the book's prospectus. The book was used like a scrap book with funeral notices clipped in throughout the volume.

The 12th is a Fox's Fighting 300 Unit. The regiment lost a total of 320 men during service; 11 officers and 170 enlisted men killed or mortally wounded, 1 officer and 138 enlisted men died of disease. At Gettysburg day one the unit had 224 fit for duty, after the battle only 50 were available. They saw much action as a part of the Army of the Potomac.

The book is slightly oversized and heavy requiring additional postage.
