Iowa, along with all the States, honored the sacrifices of their citizen soldiers by erecting memorials where the men fought. This book concentrates on Iowa's association with Chattanooga, Shiloh, Andersonville Prison and Vicksburg. There are copies of the many speeches made at these sites with interesting accounts of various units.
