A special book on Black units in the Civil War. One brother being a chaplain in a Black Regiment. This was James, who served in the Deep South and later at Key West. He was on Ships Island, near Mobile and likely near Biloxi. He died very quickly, likely yellow fever, while in Key West. He was a dedicated chaplain. The second brother, Edward, was a member of the 57th Mass, Burnside’s Corps. He was musket shot (6/17/1864) and died 6/19/1864 at Petersburg. He was previously wounded at North Anna. A very rare narrative.

Two portraits of brothers.
