This is another, abbreviated, history of this unit. Holbrook wrote a limited edition and a lengthier account (Item #505 in my webpage listings) where he provided rosters of the unit and a Death Roster not found in this account. This book is fairly detailed and will provide excellent information on the unit's activities. The 7th served in the Deep South in Louisiana, Florida and Texas where it was subjected to all its deadly diseases. There is also an account of their service at Fort Pickens near Pensacola, FL. That is RARE information, I know I lived near there for many years.
