Carthage: Carthage Press, 1923. First. VG+. Attractive scarlet and gold binding. / None. Item #521
Scarce as are older Missouri books dealing with the Civil War. This county was overwhelming pro-Confederate. As with nearly all of Missouri guerilla activity took front stage which led to ugly encounters by both sides. That is why the War there did not end in 1865 but carried on for the next generations. Contains many anecdotes.
