Smallish book by a veteran of the 7th Wisconsin Infantry, a unit that was part of the famed Iron Brigade. Prutsman was captured at Second Manassas and sent to Libby Prison. He traveled about the Southern prison system for the next year. No combat in his narrative, but full of tidbits about prison life and how to survive confinement. Scarce account.
