VERY SCARCE IN FIRST EDITION.

The company was part of the historic 11th Mississippi Infantry, along with another noted company, the Lamar Rifles. The Greys saw action in the East with the Army of Northern Virginia where it suffered horrendous casualties. Company A, the Greys, was essentially made up of University of Mississippi students with some professors as officers. They are a forgotten part of Pickett's Charge at Gettysburg where they were on the far left flank of the attacking infantry. Brown claims every member of the Greys, save perhaps one detached soldier, was either killed, captured or wounded following this action. This dealer's favorite Confederate unit history. Brown interviewed many of the relatives and friends of the men who served so her research can not be duplicated
