Cease Firing is a novel set in Georgia. It is a sequel to her other novel, The Long Roll. Bibliographies state the two novels should be read together as a set.

The Long Roll is her first novel which is set in the Valley during Jackson’s Campaign.

In Tall Cotton-102. The NY Times said her two novels were two of the best stories of the War. North American Review once rated the Long Roll as the best novel of the Civil War.
