New York and Lexington, KY: Confederate War Journal, 1893. First. Large wraps. Original wraps detached and chipped. What appears to be a second cover page VG-. / None. Item #625
This a magazine that was short lived, maybe a year, when it likely lost out to the Confederate Veteran. Strange, there are two covers with two different portraits on them. Both state Vol I, No. 6; September 1893.
Main theme of this edition is the Merrimac and Monitor engagement with a lengthy article by Admiral Buchanan, skipper of the Merrimac(Virginia).
Subscription was a dollar a year with single copies costing ten cents.
The better of the two covers is dedicated to the Confederate Navy with Adm. Buchanan’s picture on the front. Excellent illustrations with a couple of pages of advertising.
