Has a signature of William S. Quinlan in pencil on the black front free endpaper. William Quinlan served in the Corcoran Irish Brigade. He was a 27 year old when enlisting in the 164th NY Infantry. He made sergeant but was reduced to ranks before going missing at Cold Harbor.
