LIMITED TO 250 COPIES! UNION BOOKSHELF 85. Author was a member of the Fourth New York Infantry and had the "honor" of being one of the first units to charge Marye's Heights. Author claims his division sustained 50% casualties in this operation. Maybe the most interesting part of his narrative is his discussion of bartering with the Rebels. Seems many of the commodities received by the Rebels were not used by them but sold in Richmond at a great profit. Capitalism at its best!!
