CULBERTSON IS MENTIONED TEN SEPARATE TIMES IN THE BOOK, LEADING ME TO THINK HE CORRESPONDED WITH, OR MET, CULBERTSON SOMETIME. CULBERTSON MADE AT LEAST ONE COMMENT IN THE MARGIN, THAT DEALING WITH REPORTING TO WASHINGTON, DC ABOUT SOMETHING. HANDY SPENT 15 MONTHS AT FORT DELAWARE, HIS ACCOUNT IS EXTREMELY DETAILED. HE MENTIONS AND LISTS THE IMMORTAL 600 CONFEDERATE OFFICERS SENT TO CHARLESTON. THERE IS A DETAILED NARRATIVE ABOUT THIS UNCOMMON AFFAIR IN THIS UNCOMMON BOOK.
